New Delhi. Micro-blogging platform Twitter’s rival indigenous social media app KOO (KOO) has raised US $ 30 million (about Rs 218 crore) through Series B funding led by Tiger Global.
Existing investors Accel Partners, Kalaari Capital, Bloom Ventures and Dream Incubator also participated in the latest round of funding, Ku said in a statement. Apart from this, IIFL and Mirae Assets have emerged as new investors.
The number of users of Koo App is about 60 lakhs
Apramaya Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidawat started KOO
Apramaya Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidawat started Koo last year to give users an opportunity to express themselves and engage with the platform in Indian languages. It is available in several languages including Hindi, Telugu and Bengali.

Ku won the Self-Reliant App Innovation Challenge held in August of the year 2020. Then Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged the countrymen to use the Ku app in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. That’s when this app also came in the discussion.
