Airtel and Vodafone-Idea can follow in the footsteps of their rival Reliance Jio. Airtel and Vodafone-Idea may increase the validity of their tariff plans to 30 days. With this move of telecom companies, customers will have to do less recharge in a year, but they will have to take expensive tariff plans than before. This has been said in a report by Economic Times.
Jio has not removed plans lasting for 28 days yet
Industry executives and analysts have termed these plans by Jio as “luscious”, aimed at increasing margins and revenue without increasing tariff plans. A senior executive said on the condition of anonymity, “Jio is currently understanding the market and the mood of the customers. Jio has not yet removed plans that last for 28 days. If plans lasting 30 days attract customers and they spend more money. Then Airtel and Vodafone will also follow the same path.
New plans are more expensive than existing plans
Reliance Jio has recently launched new prepaid plans with multiple validity option of 30 days. Reliance Jio has named these new plans as Jio Freedom Plans.
