How to turn on/off Zoom audio notifications

Due to the threat of COVID-19 infection, nowadays people are working from home. There is a big contribution of apps like Zoom in this, which provide facilities like online meetings or school classes for children. Zoom has a very popular audio notification that lets you know if an attendee has joined or left the meeting. This feature comes in handy when you are waiting for someone to join. But it can cause a lot of irritation when you are participating in a very large group meeting and you keep getting notification sound due to frequent people coming. The sound of this notification is like a doorbell, which gives a feeling of someone ringing the doorbell in a real environment. But you can also mute it. There are also some features in this that you can either turn on notifications for everyone or only for the host and co-host. There is also an option to ask the user to record the voice to use this sound as a notification when someone connects through the phone.

How to turn Zoom audio notifications on/off

Users can turn on or off audio notifications as per their convenience. This can be done either before the start of the call or during the meeting. When a user joins the meeting, even after turning off notifications, you receive an audio prompt. This feature comes in handy when the user is waiting for someone and is also doing other tasks in between. This audio tune acts as an alert. This is even more beneficial when you are not looking at the screen.
Follow the steps given below to turn off / on the notification on Zoom.
If you’ve logged into your Zoom account from a web browser, click on Settings in the left-hand column. If you have logged in through Zoom app then proceed in this order- profile icon > select Settings > View More Settings
Now in Settings, under the left column, click on In Meeting (Basic) and scroll down. Here look for the option labeled ‘Sound Notification When Someone Joins or Leaves’. You can select either on or off on this.
Here you will see three options. The first option will have a notification sound for each participant, the second will have a notification option for the host and co-host, and the third will have the option to record the user’s voice for notifications. This last option is only for participants who connect by phone.
