Share Market Update: Sensex and Nifty saw a huge fall today. The 30-sensitive index Sensex closed at 52,501 points today, down 271.07 points or 0.51%. At the same time, Nifty also closed at 15,767.55, down 101.70 or 0.64% today. In the morning also the stock market was open with a fall.
Shares of PowerGrid saw the biggest fall of 2.18 per cent in the Sensex. IndusInd Bank, Reliance, Dr Reddy’s shares also closed below the red mark. If we talk about the top gainer, then Nestle India’s shares saw the highest jump of 1.66 points. Shares of NTPC, ONGC, TCS also saw a rise. Shares of Adani Ports fell up to 7.86% in Nifty today.
Ahead of the policy results of the US central bank Federal Reserve, Sensex fell over 90 points in early trade on Wednesday amid weak global cues. During this period, the 30-share index was trading 90.5 points or 0.17 per cent lower at 52,682.55, while the broader NSE Nifty was trading 23.55 points or 0.15 per cent lower at 15,845.70.
The biggest one percent fall in the Sensex was in PowerGrid. Apart from this, Dr Reddy’s, Titan, HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, Reliance Industries and Axis Bank were also in the red. On the other hand, ONGC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, Hindustan Unilever, TCS and Infosys were trading with gains.
