Facebook is such a social networking site, on which an account of every individual is maintained with photos and personal details. But how will you feel when you come to know that your personal data is not safe and it can be misused. The same has happened with Facebook’s 6 million users, including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The phone number of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was found in the leaked data of those 533 million Facebook users.
According to a report, other details of Zuckerberg such as his name, date of birth, location, marriage details and Facebook user ID were also revealed in the compromised data. Now the new thing in this is that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg uses the Signal app.
A research has revealed that Zuckerberg uses the Signal app keeping his privacy in mind, which also has the security of end-to-end encryption. The funny thing is that these apps are not from Facebook’s company. Security expert Dave Walker posted Mark’s leaked phone number on Twitter along with a screenshot that read, “Mark Zuckerberg is on the Signal app.” Walker wrote in another tweet, ‘Along with the Facebook data leak of 533 million people, the details of Mark Zuckerberg have also been leaked and this is a disturbing thing.6 million Indian users affected
Of the 533 million affected users, 32 million are from the US, 11 million from the UK and 6 million from India. The leaked data includes the contact numbers of users besides their personal details such as their location, full name, birth date, Facebook ID and email address.
In another turn of events, Mark Zuckerberg also respects his own privacy, by using a chat app that has end-to-end encryption and isn’t owned by @facebook
Private data of other Facebook co-founders Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskowitz are also included in these hacked data. According to a Bloomberg report, the database of stolen phone numbers was posted to a hackers ‘forum’ and can be easily passed on to anyone with basic computing skills. The data was leaked in 2020, according to another security expert, Elon Gall, who was able to see the phone numbers associated with every Facebook account.
